The Launching of SIYA NGA! REFLECTIONS WITH ART

January 28, 2020

Siya Nga! Reflections with Art (DLSUPH, 2019) is a book of short reflections by Fr. Jose Ramon T. Villarin, SJ, President of the Ateneo de Manila University. The volume, edited by David Jonathan Y. Bayot, dwells on fifty-two terms in the Christian faith. Each of the reflections is elucidated by an image of an art piece created by a Filipino painter or sculptor or photographer. Contributing artists include: National Artist Benedicto Cabrera (BenCab), Dame Betsy Westendorp, Justin Nuyda, Wig Tysmans, Marivic Rufino, and Elmer Borlongan, among others.

The book was launched on January 28, 2020 at De La Salle University to celebrate, among other things, the unprecedented event of publication partnership of De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University and the 60th birthday of Fr. Villarin. On that significant occasion, the historic St. La Salle Hall was lit with the school colors of ADMU and DLSU—blue and green, respectively.
